We can get cache information for a specific rule type or a particular rule by entering them in the text boxes above the rule cache summary in SMA. After entering the rule type(Ex:Rule-Obj-Flow) or a specific rule name, we need to click the Rule Cache Detail button to see the caching behavior of a specific rule type (flow) or even a specific rule name. In the Rule Cache Detail page, we can see the instance count specific to that rule type, cache hits, misses, and other information such as the date and time added and the date and time accessed.

Yes, i tried this feature of Rule Cache Detail from SMA, have few questions on interpreting the results there:

1. I see multiple versions of rule in cache - verified with the pzinskey - Is it valid? System Pulse is running on each node and it should invalidate the older version of rule in cache , right?

2. Some of them show Cached (On Probation) and some Cache Instance - please explain the difference.

3. Although latest version of rule is moved on 04/29, date created in Cache shows 04/14 on all nodes.

Do you have any reference document on details on cache intepretation?

Also, do you have an idea on SMA->Memory Management shows the cache usage stats - Does this have to consistent across node and how to interpret the data?
