How to compare Application Versions ?

Hi All,

Today encountered a Production issue & had to compare the Current Application Version with the Previous Application Version. (basically need to compare all the Application Rulesets which are included in each of the current application version with the previous ones to identify the faulty RuleSetVersions which the Project team included in the application).

Our Application is built on 5 different applications above the PegaCardCPM Application. So, I have to compare these 5 applications - current version with the previous version.

Anyone of you came across such situation where you have to compare the application versions ? If so, is there any way to compare them ? What I generally do is... commpare one - to - one manually.

Please share ur thoughts/comments...

Sorry Hari. Not sure, if there is any OOTB feature to spot the differences here.

again, if history (History-Rule) instances are available in the system...we could refer to 'Vew full history' feature in history tab of the rule form to find/compare the rule changes.

Hi Hari, Good Morning!

If reference dev systems are available - we could attempt running OOTB wizard Rulebase compare by navigating through Designer Studio > System > Tools > Refactor RuleSets > Rulebase Compare to identify the rule differences.

Hi Phani,

Let me be more clear....  - I just want to compare the differences - specifically the Application Rulesets which are mentioned in the STACK. Something like - What was the Previous RulesetVersion referenced and what was it changed to. If a New Ruleset got added to the latest Application Version flag it as a difference or atleast any utility through which I can find these typese of differences in the Application Stack.

Hi Phani,

Unfortunetly 'History Details' in the History Tab doesn't showup the differences . As you said, may be there is no OOTB feature to compare this. I feel it is worth to have this feature.

Would it help to go to the clipboard and copy the entire

pxThread.pxSecuritySnapshot.pxUserRuleSets list and use a text-diff tool to compare this to the one yesterday ?  /Eric
(note you can also use pxUserRuleSetsLocalized if you want to see the automatically-generated localization entries as well)
