7.1.9 History compare displays odd results for Rule-Application record
I wanted to investigate what change is made for a Rule-Application record, and I thought it won't be difficult by comparing different versions from "Full History" of the record.
However, I got a very confusing comparison results as below.

Hi Chunzhi,
It looks like it is always comparing with the latest version. Please open an SR so the behavior can be investigated further.

Hi,
Basically it will not always compare with the latest version. Infact, it works in this way, latest versions will be compared (and memo's will be ignored).
Example:
I saved the application rule after doing some changes (H1 in the history log) and then i added a memo (H2 record in the log) and then i again made some changes and saved (H3 in the log) and finally made few more changes and saved the record( H4 in the log).
Now, when i try to compare H3 and H4. it does compare H3 and H4 versions.. However, if i try to compare H2 with H3 then as H2 is a memo version, it'll compare with its latest checked/saved version (in this case H1). and then will provide the results.

Hi Nagakishore,
Thanks for your reply.
I couldn't fully understand your explanation.
I guess those History records are added by PRPC automatically as the "Save" button is clicked,
what do you mean by saying " then i added memo (H2 record in the log)" ?

There is an option to add a memo in the history window.. Just before the compare button.. I was referring to that add memo option and adding a memo to the rule

Hi Nagakishore,
I've never used that "Add memo" button, thanks for mentioning that feature.
I have two follow-up questions.
1. How do I know whether a line of history record is mere "memo" or it does contain "real" updates?
2. Your previous reply says, "Now, when i try to compare H3 and H4. it does compare H3 and H4 versions.. However, if i try to compare H2 with H3 then as H2 is a memo version, it'll compare with its latest checked/saved version (in this case H1). and then will provide the results."
Is this true? It seems the comparison result of (V2, mere memo vs V3) doesn't back your statement. Please see screenshots (right side) in my initial post.
If your explanation is true, then the comparison result should display the differences between V1 and V3.
From the screenshot, you can notice that ".pyLabel", ".pyContentSecurityMode" etc. has same value, so they shouldn't have been displayed on the V2 vs V3 comparison result.
Please correct me if I misunderstood your explanation.
