How to Check out a rule to a branch via an Activity
I have a few hundred Properties in a merged and locked RSV that all need the same update. Manually opening each one and updating by hand is untenable. Using Obj-Browse, I'm able to get the list of Properties that need to be updated so how can I check out a rule into a branch via an Activity? Also, how do you check back in to the branch via an Activity?

Why do you need to checkout them to branch? if you want to update all rules in a ruleset. Copy all rules to a temp ruleset using Copy/Merge rules wizard, Write activity to open rule instance. Update the property you want to change and commit. This will not entry to history table, however if you need history to be recorded for changes use Rule- RuleCheckIn and Rule- RuleCheckout activities.

@kalyanuppalapatiIf we did database operations to force the updates in-place that would be greasy and we would lose history and proper auditing trail (which is why we want to otherwise follow proper procedure, i.e. check out to branch). I'm not aware of a Copy/Merge rules wizard and can't find it in the Configure menu. Can you clarity?
As for the Activities Rule- RuleCheckIn and Rule- RuleCheckout, I've been trying these but nothing happens so the rule isn't checked out or in and according to the documentation those only check out to a private edit, not to branch.

Copy/Purge wizard will be in Configure-->System-->Refactor--Rulesets. If it is not shown in navigation menu, please check your access roles or privileges. This need pzSystemOperationsAdministrator privilege or Administrator/SystemAdministrator access roles to your operator. You can copy rules from ruleset versions to branches.
I don't see any other way for bulk update for rules apart from activity approach. You can try and see of History-Add method works for activity audit log. Attaching sample screen shot of copy/merge wizard.
