How can I decide whether to present a Perform Harness or Review Harness based on some condition?

Hi,

By default, if a given user is assigned the work, when opening the assignment, it will be shown in Perform harness such that he can perform.

If I have additional conditions, and wanted to be able to decide whether to open it in Review or Perform, how can this be done?

Jacky,

I don't know if I would recommend such approach because presenting a REVIEW harness when calling "Open Assignment" might be confusing for anyone having to maintain your application.

Having said that you always have place holder activities which can be used to add another logic and change the original behavior like:

- Work-.ClodeDefaults

- Code-Security.ApplicationProfileSetup

- Work-.pyPopulateNastedCases

Those activities will be called when open assignment but again I wouldn't recommend this approach.

Hi,

Thanks for the fast response.

Basically, in a process flow, in the listed assignments, when I click on the item, it will be opened by default, using the onclick OpenAssignment. So, basically, there is no specific show harness in the step.

Any other thoughts?

Hi Marc,

Kindly allow me to clarify.

Basically, I am referring to the OOTB opening of the assignment and how I could make relevant changes to achieve what I want. For example, in the OOTB My Work List, I have a list of work item that I can process.

However, clicking on those would by default, open it for Perform.

What I hope to do is to be able to 'intercept' this, such that I could make a decision to see whether to present a Review harness or a Perform harness.

You mentioned about the "Show-Harness" activity, which is a Final activity. So I was wondering if I could set the Param.Purpose in the Action tab of the OnClick through data transform? (Before the OpenAssignment) or I should find another activity to override?

What would be the best practice for this situation?
