How to call a service file explicitly?

I need to call a service file to read a txt file at a perticular time. Is there a way that i can use service listener to listen only to a perticular time (by calling throgh an activity or some other way)? If not, could you please help me to achieve the goal of reading a file in server at a point of time?

I have quickly checked with PRPC 7.2 and found execution mode with queue for Agent. The third option will fulfill your requirement.

Execution Mode

Select one of the following:

  • Execute synchronously — to have this service run to completion after a request is received. This is the default.
  • Execute asynchronously (queue for execution) — to place a service request in a queue, for background processing. If a Final Activity is selected on the Request tab, the activity will be queued and executed as the last request of the last batch. When the queued service request is executed, the execution is performed with the authorization profile of the service.
  • Execute asynchronously (queue for Agent) — to place a service request in a queue to be picked up for scheduled execution by an Agent configured to process the queue.

Thanks Rajeev, I will try this option. Any way to call the service file soon after i execute an activity? My scenario is saving data to DB and if that fails, i need to save the details in a txt or any other format and then i need to read the file afterwards. for that, i need to call the service file after the RDB save operation.
