How are views validated in App Studio?

I have crated Collection steps in App Studio using views.  I would like to add validations so the data is correct when data is entered using those views.  When selecting Validation, there are no data items to select to build validation logic. Am I mis-using views?

Hi Dave,

This form validation in App Studio shows only the fields which are used in that existing view. As in the given example there are no fields in the current view, rather its containing three views, no fields are available for creating a validation condition. You can create a validation for the same in Dev Studio.

In Pega 8.5 which is due for release, this behaviour has been updated and you would be able to view all the fields and create validation conditions using all the relevant fields.
