How to add attachment to external system in constellation application

In Constellation File attachment wizard by default call DX API and store the document with in Pega tables. Any Pega recommendation to extend the DX API to store documents in external storage. Or alternate option need to create a custom widget components and deploy.

Yes, that's correct. I hope you're aware that we can configure content management for attachment storage (Application rule- > Definition -> Integration). 

DX component is the alternate way to store the attachments in the external system table.
