Horizontal Scroll Bar in Text Area
Hello, I have a problem about horizontal scroll bar in text area. I use a text area in a section. I want to see scroll bar in a text area if the column is greater than the shown. Because I dont want to shift the cursor to next line before 35 character.
I add a css class (attached) and I use it in text area for Cell read-write classes. Scroll is always shown there(attatched). This is so bad. I dont want to see scroll if it is not needed.
Do you have any solution about this issue.

Having a fixed length scroll as you mentioned 35 character is not advisable as in mobile you will get your whole screen in horizontal scroll which is very bad way. For your requirement mentioned the fixed width in the Presentation tab of Text area.

Thanks for your answer. But it is not acceptable for my application. Beacuse line and character counts are so important for my app. If I use fixed width in the Presentation tab of Text area, end user will go to the next line before 35 character in greater resolution.

My understanding as per you requirement is that you want the scrollbar to appear once user reaches 35 characters. Please correct me if I have understood incorrectly.
So in the above case the solution you have tried is incorrect because the scroll style you are applying is to the cell containing textArea but not to the TextArea.
Kindly try the below changes and it should work fine.
Open your application skin and go to "Text inputs & Formatted Text" Component and from there clone the "Standard" format. Now in the cloned format Go to "Field Text" and in that add an additional style as "word-wrap:normal".
Now specify this control format to the textArea you want to use.
Now for the end user whenever 35 columns have reached then user will see the scroll.
