High Availablity setup with SQL Server 2012 or 2016

Hi All,

We have a setup with SQL Server 2012, have 2 databases Primary and secondary connected thru cluster. Pega JVM always connects thru cluster. We tried manually taking the primary offline and made the secondary db as primary this process took less than a minute but within this short period of time all JVM's went down the existing pega connections are not ported over to the other database.

Have any one used SQL Server in HA setup if so please share your experience and solution.

Are you using the MS native jdbc driver support for HA? I found this article but it is for SQLServer 2017, not sure if it is supported for SQL 2012/2016: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/connect/jdbc/jdbc-driver-support-for-high-availability-disaster-recovery?view=sql-server-2017. In general, Pega should not care as long as the datasource is setup according to the underlying appserver/db vendors. IBM Websphere/Oracle Weblogic has similar datasource setup. What is your appserver vendor?
