Does Pega support HEIC files?
Accepted Solution
Pega can store a .heic/.heif as a normal file attachment (so users can upload it and download it later), as long as you don’t block that extension in your attachment/file-type validation. But if you mean show it inline (thumbnail/preview) inside Pega, that usually won’t work out of the box because most browsers don’t natively render HEIC. What this really means is: upload is fine, display is the problem. The common fix is to convert HEIC to JPG/PNG at upload time (or immediately after) and show the converted file in the UI. You can do the conversion with a server-side library/tool (for example ImageMagick or another HEIF decoder) called from a custom activity/service, then save the output as a standard attachment. If you also need the original HEIC for audit, keep both: original for download, JPG/PNG for preview. Hope this helps
