Getting "Source file not found" error while installing Pega Robotics Studio
Hi folks,
I'm getting an error (Source file not found) when I'm trying to install Pega Robotics Studio by running OpenSpanStudioVS2015Setup.x64. I downloaded this software from the PDN site.
The attached screenshot has the full error message. If any of you have encountered this error message or know how to get around this issue, please help.

Did you try to run the installer without unzipping the files?

Thanks Jeff. I had clicked the zip file but did not extract the file. I've now extracted the files but still the installer is unable to find the source file. I manually placed the source file in the directory that the installer is looking for. The installation this time went for a few additional steps I guess but came up with another error "There is a problem with the installer package. A Program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor".
Prior to this error, another error comes up "Cannot find one or more components. Please reinstall the application".

Run the setup as an Administrator. If that does not resolve your issue, I would suggest opening a support ticket.

Thanks Jeff. My User Id has Admin privileges. This time I captured the screenshot at each step. Could you please take a look once to see if the error looks familiar to you. I'll raise a support ticket per your suggestion if the detailed screenshots do not help. I'm new to this forum and do not actually know how to raise a support ticket (will figure it out).
Thank you

Hi Sanjay,
I read that you are new and wanted to add in this information in case Jeff recommends you to create an SR again!
This blog should help you with that: Introduction to My Support Portal: Opening a Support Request
Please let us know the SR number once you create it.

Sorry, this needs someone to look at it on your machine. A SR is the way to go.

Thanks Jeff and Lochana. I tried to submit an SR but looks like I may not have the privilege to create one. The attached screenshot shows the support screen I get. There is no "Create" button.

Hi Sanjay,
I took a look into the screen shot attached and I see that even your name is not displayed on the screen! I believe that your Account Administrator should jump in to affiliate you with the account and only then you would be able to create an SR. Reference: [VIDEO] Support Guide: Support Contact Administration
As next steps for you, my suggestions are below:
- Check with your colleagues in you organisation if anyone can create an SR on your behalf, meanwhile you can find out the Account Administrator and request them to affiliate you
- If you are unable to find out any contacts to help you - neither colleagues nor the admin, contact your Pega Account Executive
- If you do not know this information, you can call into the Pega Support numbers listed here to request this information: Support Contact Information
- Please reply back here if these suggestions were helpful, else I will try figuring out another way :)

Hi Lochana,
I tried installing the exercise software on couple of other machines (just to isolate if the problem was with my laptop). The same error comes up. I spoke to technical folks in our organization and they mentioned the issue could be with the installer package. Need a favor. Would it be possible for you to download the exercise software from the PDN site and try installing on one of the machines available to you? If you get the same issue, it might be easier to inform the support folks that there is an issue with the package and their fix would help everyone else.

Sanjay

Hi Sanjay,
I just tried to download the same exercise system software and I am receiving that same error. I'm going to move your post to our Pega Academy Community & notify the Moderator over there to get some eyes on this for you.
Thank you!

Hi Marissa,
I searched for this issue on Pega Academy Community but could not locate. Would you know if there is any update in this regard?

Hi Marissa,
Need help on this issue. I tried the installation yesterday thinking that perhaps an updated Zip file is made available that resolves the issue but the installation came up with the same error. Would you know if there is any other software dump that I could download and install?

Sanjay

Hi Marissa,
I'm able to install the software now. Instead of hitting the 64 bit setup file that is part of installation files, I hit the Setup file (my assumption earlier was this was for 32 bit machines). It worked with this setup file. Please note my Laptop is 64 bit for sure. Thanks everyone for help.

Hi All,
I tried to install using OpenSpanStudioVS2015Setup instead of OpenSpanStudioVS2015Setup.x64 but still couldn't able to install RDA as I was getting attached error.

sounds like you don't have sufficient system rights during installation. Tried execute as administrator?
