getting an error when trying to edit a form
Good afternoon. When I try to edit a form that I've created, and I click on the "configure this view" link or the pencil icon to edit the form, I get an error.
All it says, however, is there is an error and to contact the system administrator.
When I inspect the page's html, it looks like it tries to execute "onclick = pega.desktop.automation.support.dismisstour(); pega.ui.edit.config.launchpanel()".
I tried it in chrome and edge browsers but got the same error.
It looks like it only partially brings up the edit page - as the left side of the page looks correct, but the right side (the one with all the column and format options) never comes up, the dial just keep spinning, freezes my page, and I have to reload the page to get any functionality back. For other clients there have been instances where if the DSS setting for datapage/newgenpages is not present, the application will use redux pages to hold data. If not, we fall back to referencing legacy clipboard pages and this seems to be the root cause of the reported error.
Our support team identified and tested a local change that can be applied to resolve the error in this use case. Please follow the steps below and apply this local change/update to your application and report back your findings:
From DEV STUDIO > RECORDS > SYSTEM ADMIN > DYNAMIC SYSTEM SETTINGS
- click the filter icon to search the 'Setting Purpose' column
- enter 'datapage/newgenpages' and press enter to SEARCH
If not found:
- click the CREATE button in the top far- right hand corner of the page and configure with the following information:
Owning Ruleset: Pega-Engine
Setting Purpose: datapage/newgenpages
Setting: true/false
- SAVE
- Log out of app
- Log in to app
- Run Case
