If I understand what you are asking correctly then yes:

You need to enable the "Skip Create Harness" option on the Process Tab of the flow rule that starts the case.  If you are using Pega 7 with steps / stages then this is by default the pyStartCase flow in the relevant class.

Enabling this will mean the case is created straight away and the first screen the user will see will be the first flow action of the process.

Thank you. My requirement is to get into the work object form without the need to Click the +create link in the user portal. your recommenation still requires to click the Create link. I  believe l am A step closer. Any further advice, please 

Is the issue that you have to click Create, and then select the case type from the menu?  

How exactly do you want the user to start the case?  With a single click on a button / link or something like that, or did you mean you want a new case created automaticlly as soon as they login?

I'm not sure about creating a new case automatically on login, but you could configure link with the "Create Work" action on the home screen of the portal which would create the new object with a single click.

Not sure about the exact implementation but you can try below options

Option 1:

 by Adding invisible section on portal, customize HTML/Section rule and call activity on on-load JavaScript. Finally, this activity can trigger work object.

Option 2: You can customize extension activities during customer login. Idea is to trigger flow in one of these activities could create work object automatically
