Generate a Word Document out of Word Template on Server Side and attach to work object. Please suggest.
Hi Nizam,
We are trying to generate 20 pages word document based out of a template, most of the template has static data and there are few work object related properties. I am trying to use pzGenerateDocument OOTB rule its generated document and returned url but its not parsing the work object properties with {pega:reference xxx } tags.
Our requirement is purely server side generate the document and attach to work object. Please suggest.

Thanks for references.
I am successfully generated the document with dynamically passed data from work object. Here are the steps below.
1. Call the pega_appdefinition_documentapp.pzGenerateDocument pass the template name and class name
2. Above function returns the url of the file generated in server temp folder path, write java logic to read file stream using file url
Example:
PRFile dataFile = new PRFile(fName);
java.io.InputStream is = new PRInputStream(dataFile);
java.io.ByteArrayOutputStream baos = new java.io.ByteArrayOutputStream();
java.io.OutputStream os = Base64Util.createEncodingOutputStream(baos);
byte[] buf = new byte[4096];
int len = is.read(buf);
while (len != -1)
{
os.write(buf, 0, len);
len = is.read(buf);
}
is.close();
os.flush();
baos.flush();
os.close();
baos.close();
3. Use the filestream as your pyAttachStream for your attachment page and set other properties for attachment page. Similar to adding a new attachment.
