Export To Excel with filters using Data Page is not working
I know if I use RD I can achieve this. But if I use RD we don't have an option to provide saving filters and personalize the columns. We have like 20 columns and we do want to show them all when users are logging in. So best to provide personalize the option column. But when user uses that and applies filters, then we are not able to export to excel the filtered data. Instead we are getting the entire list with all columns and Data.
Is there any OOTB rule or custom code to achieve the same.
We use Pega 8.5.4

Can you help me in explaining on how to define a template to export the DataPage with Filters.

@VenkatRaman create the template using binary file. Inside the template you can use fields you want to export. ".Pouplate the details with filters in data pages in up front before calling the activity.

Got it. Thanks. Even without the template we are able to export to excel with OOTB activity pxGenerateExcelFile by passing the pxResults. The toughest Part is getting the filters which user applies on the UI. Pega does not have a copy of filtered data in the clipboard rather just the Filter names and values selected on filters. So we have like 30 columns and not all 30 columns should be in the excel. Only the one User selected in the view along with any filter applied in the UI needs to be exported.

@VenkatRaman You can try out the run script. Please refer pzReportActions menu rule and check Export to Excel.

The reported issue which is the filtered results cannot be exported seems to be one of the known issues in Pega product.
The export feature would export all the data and not just the filtered data
A feedback/enhancement request has been created for this issue.
