Environment setup not working
After installing the exercise system in VMWare, the application is not available. I have done several other trainings with Pega and after setting up the VM instance, I usually see a startup message with the URL to launch the PRPC login page. However with this download, the URL that shows up is 'http://:9080'
I have other VMs on the same machine with URLs http:// Proprietary information hidden:9080- I can launch and access those. I shut down all other VMs. Launch the VM for this course and get the bogus URL. I tried using 'http://localhost:9080', but it doesn't work.
I really don't understand why Pega makes this so complicated. Why do I have to set up a separate VM for every training course (I have at least six different VMs for different training- BAE, DCO Architect, SA, SSA, Customer Service Fundamentals, and now a different one for Creating Customer Service Solutions). Why not just provide rulesets or apps that we can import?

FYI: My workstation is a Macbook Pro with Retina Screen running macOS Sierra (Version 10.12) and VMWare 8.5. I was able to solve the issue by:
1. Stop the VM.
2. For the VM choose settings, choose "Network Adapter".
3. Choose "Internet Sharing" , "Share With My Mac"
4. Start the VM. Now it shows an IP Address-based URL

In your case where you are taking multiple courses, downloading multiple VMs for each course may seem like a lot of work. However for someone taking only a particular course, it is easier to simply download and setup 1 VM specifically tailored to that course, especially when different courses requires different dependencies outside of simply loading rulesets, e.g. Pega CS requires additional installs compared to Pega Platform courses like SAE/BAE/DCO etc.
However, you may be pleased to know that for Pega Platform 7.2 courses, we now have a single VM for PPF, BAE and SAE.
