Dynamic SMTP server configuration in Email account rule
Is there any possible approach to consider changing Email account rule configuration to browse the DNS MX records and pick up the MX server configuration which is up and running at that moment instead of hard-coding single SMTP server details such that the emails would be sent through an alternate server in case of any unplanned outage for the configured smtp server in hard coded manner ?
Please suggest if any one have came across such kind of scenario earlier and able to find out a better solution for this requirement. Thanks in advance !!

Hi Nikilesh,
It's not possible as each email account rule is associated with a specific SMTP configuration and we can't by pass the credentials in a dynamic way.

Rephrasing the actual client requirement, Pega to verify the list of available smtp servers which are up & running and use the highest preferred server configuration before sending any outbound emails. Could you provide your thoughts upon how to achieve this requirement within pega ?

I think the SMTP server field on Email Account supports GRS syntax (=D_<datapagename>.<propref>). Have you tried that?
