I see in a few other posts that an Enhancement request was raised for the same purpose - FDBK-18240. Is there a way to check on the status of this? Or has this parser been added in any of the latest framework versions?

I had a look into this item on our internal portal and it looks like this was confirmed as a bug. However, it has not been resolved yet. At this point, we would encourage you to talk to your Pega Account Executive to take this forward.

This feedback item was actual for a customer who is using Pega 717 with Healthcare Industry Foundation v7.12. They have reported poor performance while loading of the 834 EDI file. Once the file listener picks-up the 834 EDI file of approximately size 6 MB, the processing takes 2-3 hours to complete.
As a fix we have redesigned the parsing process to store each 834 file from a batch to be persisted to database table, and it is recommend to retrieve during 834 reconciliation process of enrollments.
We have released this long back and the customer reported that it is working fine for them.
This feedback item is not related to 834 API which is still not implemented. We have implemented only the Inbound and outbound generation of 834 but we don't have an API in place.
