Does Pega Deployment Manager allow running standalone DB Scripts?
Hi Team,
Our client has Platform 7.4. And we are trying to introduce Pega Deployment Manager in it. We want to know if the Deployment Manager component has any functionality that allows the release manager to run standalone db/sql scripts from the pipelines or from some other place?
The scripts can be for Pega Database or they can be for any external databases which are connected to Pega using DB-Admin-Database-Name.

Hello,
After discussing with our Product Specialists came to know that you can't run the standalone sql scripts at this moment as per the deployment manager documentation over here i.e. Configuring settings to automatically deploy schema changes

I was wondering - Can we not invoke a shell script(for LINUX) from the Pipeline Case to run db scripts ? The shell script will contain the logic to apply the scripts in the database. Is this something that can be considered ? Can you check with the Product specialist whether this sounds like a viable option.

You always have the option of invoking a Jenkins job to run the scripts as long as you are aware of what you are doing there.
