Does OpenSpan support automation for PASSPORT WEB TO HOST Client mainframe emulator ?
I am looking at automating a mainframe app which uses PASSPORT WEB TO HOST Client emulator by Zephyr (now owned by Rocket Software).
Is it possible to automate this using OpenSpan ? If yes , what text adapters can I use ?

The main piece of information that you need to find out is if the emulator uses the hllapi or ehllapi dlls. This is the API that Pega Robotics uses to communicate with the mainframe. If it does not have this dll then the simple answer is that Pega Robotics won't be able to work with it. Some emulators require special configuration to have the mainframe utilize this dll so following up with the application team that manages this will also help you in determining if you can automate it.
You would probably use the generic text adapter.

Did you mean that we need to check if we have a dll with exact name as "hllapi.dll" or "ehllapi.dll"?
We have a dll in the installation folder of emulator as "Passhll.dll".
Can you please let me know if we can interrogate the mainframe application under this emulator?

PASSHLL.DLL does work. In order to make this work, you need to make a change on the text adaptor. The trick is you need to set UseExtendedFunctions to false. Once that is done it will work.
