Document Content Viewer with pega
Hi All,
Does anyone have experience of using a document content viewer embedded in a Pega application?
The content viewer must support features like content viewing, annotating, collaborative commenting, integrating with an ECM etc
Any suggestions on possible solutions are welcome
Thanks

Hi
Version 6.3 onwards, PEGA enables end users to capture, store, and view content, all in PRPC. If your application's end users perform tasks where scanned images or documents are needed for resolution of a case or work item, you can easily add scanning and viewing capability to the user's workflow. Please have a look on the KB article : http://pdn.pega.com/node/11893

Hi Santanu,
Thanks for the information. However, this is about viewing the scanned document as an image using the image viewer
My requirement is to be able to view the document (pdf, word, ppt etc), allow users to annotate / comment on the document and then eventually integrate with an ECM to save the document there. So, we are looking at some HTML5 document viewers like groupdocs, eviewer etc which can be embedded in Pega for achieving such features.
So, wanted to check if someone has a prior experience of doing something similar
Thanks

Hi Sudit,
Have you found any solution to port a third party document viewer in your Pega application?
I have similar requirements from one of my client.
I appreciate that if you can share your story.

Hi Chunzhi,
No, we haven't decided on any particular solution yet. Still looking into various document viewers available in the market.
Thanks

We have now done a POC where we have been able to successfully integrate with a third party HTML5 document viewer (there are a number of such products available in the market).
The viewer provides its own set of JS API's which have been used to fetch documents stored in a document repository (e.g. Share point) and display them in the viewer.

Unfortunately, I cannot share the JS API. Its specific to the vendor who had built this HTML5 document viewer and the wouldn't work without the full setup.
