DNode Configuration

Hi Team,

We are working on setting up the decision application. We need to configure DNode for the Decision application. We have a PRPC server through which we wanted to connect to DNode which is hosted on another server.

To connect to external cassandra cluster i have added valid host names and supplied the valid cassandra DB credentials.After submitting the form still i see the Add Node button being disabled. Please find the attached

Can someone please help if we are missing something here.

Also we have a server which we wanted to run for the ADM services. Can you help how to configure my prpc server to communicate to the ADM server.

We are working on Pega Version 7.2.2

Is the other node which is hosted on another server is part of the same PRPC Cluster (connect to the same pegarules/pegadata schema) as your current one?

There are 4 different types of DNodes - DDS (Cassandra), ADM, Data Flow and Real Time Grid(VBD). With the exception of DDS which can connect to an external cassandra cluster as well, all the other types of DNodes requires a PRPC node part of  the same cluster. If you have a multi node setup then you can identify what type of DNode each PRPC node is and add them accordingly. If it is a single node setup then you can configure all of the Dnodes types to be running in same node but this is not a ideal setup.

If this is is being done for a real customer then I would recommend you to reach out to your Account Executive and work with GCS to understand and configure accrodingly.

Yes we need to configure DDS which is an external cassandra. I don't see the external node appearing in the add node. Can you please help us to understand the configuration at the prpc node to see the external cassandra node.

Do you have a screenshot under the Decision Data Store page?  Like mentioned in the link above, you can start by clicking Edit Settings from the Decision Date Store and configure to connect to external Cassandra.
