Difference in Search Funcitonality for version less than Pega 7.4 and Pega 8.x

Hi

I know that the way Search Indexing works in Pega versions less than 7.4 is changed when we move to Pega 8.x with introduction of the queue processor using Kafka / Stream Nodes

Can someone please provide me a document with the details of the differences of the above two methods in 7.4 and 8.x
