Defer load is not working as expected in tab group in 7.1.9
Hi team,
I have a tab group with defer load enabled and included it in dashboard , the expected behavior is when i click on the tab the component should load instead whenever dashboard loads its loading the content which degrades the performance.
I have included dynamic layout inside tab group and enabled the defer load and referred the sections inside the dynamic layout and also for the first after dashboard loads when i clicked on any tab the contents are not at all loading and when i click on refresh the portal and i can able to see the tab contents.
Please let me know if someone has any idea what might be the issue.

We started our development from pega7 only and we later upgrade it to pega7.1.9 and the same issue is happening in chrome as well.

Kevin, I peeked at the doc you mentioned, and it talks about "standards mode". It's clear how to do "compatibility mode" on IE but how do we do "standards mode" ? The "tools" menu mentions "compatibility" but not "standards". /Eric
Eric, there is nothing you need to "do". That SA was not written very clearly. For that customer they were using compatibility view and needed to force standards to correct it. If you have compatibility view turned off and hitting a Pega 7 app with IE11 as is, then you will be running in Edge mode (standards) by default.

No, I am not quite saying that. That is a bit of a twisted oversimplification of that mode.
I would also not say it's "another name for..." as that can become confusing or misleading.
Yes, for all intents and purposes, when compatability view is on, then you are running in Quirks mode.
Otherwise IE11 will default to Edge.
So the net effect of this, is I suppose, what you have written.
If you want to assign double negative or double positive names for each mode, you can, but no one really speaks in these terms.
Picture a modern day car with traction control. By default this is on.
If you turn it off, then you say I have turned off traction control.
No one says I am driving in slippery mode off or on to correspond respectively to having traction control on or off.
If this is still not clear we can take this offline. I would rather not muddy up Praveen's thread with a tangential topic.

Not meaning to be tangential here, Rhett. I am working a case that is also having an issue with defer-load so when I saw Kevin's reference to an SA whose resolution was to enable standards mode, I wanted to have my customer try that too, but I wanted to try it first, but when I go to the IE menus, I don't see any choice to turn on "standards" mode, so if you don't have a quick answer about that (the traction stuff didn't help, sorry), I'll research it some more.
By the way, since we agree that the SA is not written clearly, once I do figure all of this out, I'll be in a better position to tell the author of that SA what a suggested edit to it would be.

No worries Eric. Yes, we can suggest edits to the SA to make it more clear.
For you and your customer to "try standards", you do not need to do anything special here.
Just use IE11 as is, with no special settings.
If it does not help your customer's use case, then the SA does not apply to you.
