customerdata.schema.name how does it work - what does it do

We are looking at updating from 7.2.2 to 7.4 and I noticed a new property in the setupDatabase.properties file named customerdata.schema.name, but I cannot find any useful documentation on it.

Can anybody share how it works and what it does?

We have our work and data tables in a separate schema from the Pega data schema, so I am wondering if we can use this for it while running the update.

The customerdata.schema.name is for exactly the circumstance that you described, a separate work schema that is not part of PegaDATA.
