Hi
I am getting error Importing Virtual appliance on Virtual Box. Its coming with the error: Failed to import appliance then the OVF path. I am attaching screen shot with this. I tried to install & re download the .tar file.
Any help would be great as i am stuck now.
Thanks

Did you save the tar file as a .ova file and try the import that way.
Thanks,

I tried that as well, but same result.

I'm getting the same error. I downloaded the TAR file and unpacked it with 7zip. Then when I tried to open the OVF via VMWare in a bid to import it, I get an error which says essentially that the import failed because the file did not pass OVF specification conformance or virtual hardware compliance checks.
There was an option to import anyway which I did, but that did not work as the VM that got created could not be launched successfully as the OS is not found.
See attached screenshot.
I've tried this 3 times already, just in case it was an error with the download. But same result each time.

Actually I unpacked the tar file with 7Zip. Sorry for the typo.

You cannot unpack the .zip (or .tar). The file type is an .ova - which is a type of archive file. You must download the file with the extension of .ova as noted in the VM User Guide.
When you download the file, in the download dialog window, make sure you change the file type to All Files, and make sure in the name you include the .ova extension.
Then, when you Import the .ova file, it will work.

Did exactly as suggested. When downloading the file, I made sure that I saved it as an ova file. And then tried to import it into VMWare. But I got the same error. I'm using VMWare Workstation 12 Pro.

OK, for that first alert box, simply click Retry.
