Creating a Screenshot of the Screen in Case of Error During Process Automation
Hello Dear Pega Robotics Community,
I think we have similar topics answered in past but I was wondering if there is any change to this topic in Robot Studio/Runtime v22.1.53
We would like to take a screenshot of the screen in case robot automation goes into failure and finishes with exception. Reason behind is to better identify the cause and potentialy can lead to faster exception solving.
There are following settings where we run our robotic automations:
- Citrix VDI
- Some VDIs are using robot runtime without connection to pega platform, without RPAService , runtime runs from Robot Studio installation. Those are standalone robotic solutions triggered from Task Manager.
- Other VDIs are using runtime with connection to platform for processing realtime cases taken from robot queue in robot manager. In those cases RPAService is running all the time.
- In all VDIs processes run without human interaction and users are disconnected from the VDIs.
- In all VDIs there is not set a time for windows lock or sleep, windows run always unlocked and awake until VDI is restared.
Question:
Is it possible to create a screenshot logic that will work even if noone is connected to the VDI ?
Should we approach differently with the screenshot logic to the VMs that are always connected to Platform with RPA Service and to those where we run just standalone solutions ?

NOTE: In past we had issues to take screenshots during the robot processing in cases where person was disconnected from the VDI, screenshot logic ended with exception or the image of screenshot was black. Is this please solved ?
Thank you very much
