Contact users in certain region on chat
Hi
I have a requirement where I need to contact all the people logged in a certain region (say any place in Germany) on the chat (say Lync) and send them an IM to remind them of passed deadline..?
How can this be achieved in PRPC..?

Thanks for your reply. I already explored Lync integration option with Pega. But my requirement is a bit more complex. By using Lync,
a) How would I know that users (in a certain region based on their IP or whatever) belong to a particular region..?
b) Assuming a) is met, how would I ping (programmatically from Pega {Java code..??}) these users..? (could be a websocket or LyncGateway protocol..)

--> I think it will just integrate PRPC with Lync and the users who will appear in lync something should be taken care by Lync client. Raviprakash Reddy any thoughts ?

I've little idea on it.
User appear in lync will be taken care by Lync client only. From Pega Portals we can initiate Lync chat with required contact (we have tried with single contact - but your requirement is to start group chat - need to explore options provided Lync protocol) by clicking on a link which in-turn opens locally installed lync client.

The chatting part is fine. I need to identify the users of a given region as well. Here's the use case :
"User in APAC region logs in. Depending upon his/her timezone, he/she should be notified via Lync chat about the cases pending in his worklist and that the urgency is getting spiked up.."
I envision this solution:
Using Lync integration or javascript function (using Window's Name CTRL property), we can figure whether the user is online or not. Then via Websocket or Java Lync API (using SIP message) we can send a chat to that person.
But I am still trying to figure that how will I figure if that user belongs to a APAC region.(can be done using IP...? ) and also if I can avoid messaging user via websocket and could use Lync chat rather.

May be you can think of capturing users geolocation first via a JS code : Refer : HTML5 Geolocation
Based on that, you can internally create a decision table to map users with region .
