Connect to SQL Server from Pega

Dear team,

I am getting the below error while connecting the Pega 7 to SQL server. I clicked the test connection button. tried many ways. but getting the same error. Please help me to identify the possible root cause.

Problem encountered when getting a database connection: code: 0 SQLState: 08S01 Message: The TCP/IP connection to the host LIN66003543B, port 1433 has failed. Error: "Permission denied: connect. Verify the connection properties. Make sure that an instance of SQL Server is running on the host and accepting TCP/IP connections at the port. Make sure that TCP connections to the port are not blocked by a firewall.". DatabaseException caused by prior exception: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: The TCP/IP connection to the host LIN66003543B, port 1433 has failed. Error: "Permission denied: connect. Hi Vamsi,

You need to enable settings by using sqlServer configuration management.
Update the IP address and port number here to the IP where SQL server is installed

Hi Ujjwal,

I have IP1 to IP9 and IPAll number exists in my TCP/IP properties. Do I need to update all my IP1 to IP9 with the Server name as my  server name - LIN66003543B ?  or only for specific IP numbers ?

Thank you Ujjwal. it is worked. I changed for all IP1 to 9 address to my server name. it is worked. I am able to connect now.

Hi,

  • Check if your SQL server is actually up and running
  • Check SQL server hostname, username and password is correct
  • Check there's no firewall rule blocking TCP connection to port 1433
  • Check the host is actually reachable
