Small clarification, have you attached any item with correspondence that you are unable to open? or after correspondence is attached to Work item, which you are not able to open ?

If second point is correct then check the tracer or UI screen if you see any error and investigate from there ?

if none of the possibility is true then give more detail about how you send the correspondence ?

It could be the issue with your browser. Check the browser compatibility. Pega is mostly compatible with Internet Explorer. If you still face this issue try clearing the cache..

please also check the attachment format.
