Can KMS application solutions be crawled
We have KMS application On-Prem an I have being asked if our application can be crawled. Our main company web search would like to crawl our solutions and display them within their searches. If it can be crawled where can I find information on how to do it.

Hi Keith, not familiar with the crawl. can you help with the following?
- How does crawl collects the information? does it go through application server directory or database or webpages?
- what are the information being collected as part of crawling?
- pretty much all pega contents needs authentication & how you plan to display the details if pega content is returned as search result?

In the case of crawling Pega data, it would be having access to the backend DB or to the Search Indexes. We don’t officially support it but I can see that it could be done of the Rest endpoint for ElasticSearch is opened/enabled. As an alternative you can perform RestAPI calls and get the payload but on a large index you will have performance hits.
In the case of crawling external source, we can initiate the crawling via custom code and initialize the crawling. However, in this scenario the whole Pega objects structure needs to be setup.
We would like to provide a functionality to create a separate index to keep the external content in its own index although this feature isn't available currently.
