Can I categorize the results of the Auto Complete in Custom order instead of default alphabetical order?

Can anybody let me know if there is any way to categorize the results of the Auto Complete in a custom order. Right now , it categorizes by default in the descending alphabetical order based on the 'Category Property'. But I want few of the important categories to be displayed on the top during search but they are being pushed to bottom based on the present default nature.

In the UI gallery ( Designer Studio -> Configure -> User Interface-> gallery -> UI Elements), there is an example that shows how to group by sample

Check its design time configuration to understand how it can be accomplished
