Can Filenet monitor a new coming document and then start a new case in Pega?
Hi:
Our project has such a requirement: a new document is pushed into Filenet, and the information in the new document should be transferred to Pega and create a new case in Pega.
Does Filenet has such capability to keep monitoring the incoming documents in a specific folder and trigger a Pega new case once the new document comes into the folder?

Hi,
Pega's File Listener rule doesn't support connecting to the FileNet system as a Listener. But I have seen a few customer implementations using IBM FileNet as a CMIS provider. That's to facilitate storing Pega attachments/files externally. Not applies for your scenario posted.
If you can get the new document pushed into Filenet be made available or copied to a place/directory which is accessible to Pega. Then you may configure File Listener to process the file every time it's pushed(created) and create a case based on the information read.

as a rule of thumb, in a case where you want to explore possibilities of extrernal systems, you should ask the comminuty of that system.
because pega of course has an API to create a case. how to consume this API is completely depends on the external system.
any workaround how to use pega's features (as sugested above) to replicate a functionality of the external system, will be only workarounds, not a proper use of integration concepts.
