How to handle byte array response coming into Pega?

Does anyone know what PEGA Property Type would accommodate a byte array? Or how to handle a response returned in byte array format?

I don't know the best way of doing this : but it is possible to store 'binary' objects in PRPC using base64encoded data in a 'text' property.
