BIX on External database table - New to BIX

Hello There,

I wanted to ask know quickly about BIX, I come to know that BIX can only export rows from a given single class. So if my class is mapped to external table, will that work in this case to export large set of rows to MS-Excel?

It should work even if the class is mapped to the external DB table.
