Hi, we using V7.1.9 and as part of our workflow we have to leverage OOB Add and Edit Attchment module. But only change in the file attchment list displayed by section pzAttachFileDDFileList they dont need category dropdown. My questions are
1> Why Pega team kept one simple section pzAttachFileDDFileList which has just repeat grid as final rule. This should have been allowed for customization to display File list grid the way we want
2> If i want to save as this rule to another name to customize it, but it has so many depenedcies .. i have to save as all final rules in it's hirarchy where i end up save as whole module with different rule names.
Save as all the rules is the best way to handel this or Create Pega SR to change this section rule as no a Final rule.

You're right, you shouldn't be attempting to over-ride final rules.
I suggest you do a Pega trace of the attachment mechanism, and it will reveal which rules are used. Examine some of those rules, and be on the lookout for any of the following:
Useful rules marked "extension" that you can over-ride.
UI rules such as sections or dropdown lists that may be easy for you to over-ride if they are not final.
Non-final decision-rules such as when-rules that may be easy for you to over-ride that are referred to from UI rules. You may be able to over-ride some of these decision-rules to control the visibility of some of the dropdowns you don't want your users to see.
Parameters and properties that are referred to that you may be able to control the value of, for managing how the attachments screen show up.
