Accessing DB in Pega VM

Can anyone kindy advise how to access the Database while running the Pega VM excercise system? I need to make some changes to the table columns which is not possible using the Pega DB wizard.

Is it possible for you to write some connect-SQL rules and access the tables, if you have permissions I guess you can alter the tables as well.
