How to read the Image metadata to retrieve date taken while upload an image file on Pega Field Service application.

Then, develop a small Java utility using a library like metadata-extractor to read the EXIF data from the uploaded image and extract the "date taken" field. Compile and deploy this Java class so Pega can access it. In your Pega application, create an activity that runs when an image is uploaded; this activity should open the uploaded image file, call the Java utility to get the date taken, and then save this date into the case property you created earlier. Make sure to handle any errors, such as missing metadata, gracefully. Finally, display the extracted date in your application’s user interface as needed. This streamlined approach ensures that every time an image is uploaded, the application automatically retrieves and uses the date it was taken, enhancing data accuracy and user experience.
