XML files in Edge
IN order to interrogate Edge page, Pega Robotic Automation for Browsers must be activated.
PDF files are displayed correctly and recognized by PEGA.
But XML files are not readable without IE mode activated.
How is it possible to display and interrogate XML files in Edge ?

@JeanChristopheD17042937Do you have an example of what you are trying to interrogate? If you have an XML file stored locally, you wouldn't need to open it in the browser to read it with Pega Robotics. That would certainly be more efficient and easier.

@ThomasSasnett XML file is displayed by doubleclicking in SAP software and opened in Edge. URL is retrieved from Edge to download file with a C# Webclient.DownloadFile. Informations are sent to C# program.
Is it impossible to combine Pega Robotic Automation for Browsers and XML in Edge without IE mode ?

@JeanChristopheD17042937 IE Compatibility mode is specified by your browser and company policies. It is not specified by Pega Robotics. Do you have reason to suspect that Pega Robotics is causing it to open under compatibility-mode? Does it open that way when you are not running Pega Robotics?

@ThomasSasnettIf Pega Robotic Automation for Browsers is not activated, XML file is displayed correctly without IE mode ind Edge.
If Pega Robotic Automation for Browsers is activated, XML files is displayed correctly in Edge if IE mode is activated.
Why is IE mode necessary with Pega Robotic Automation for Browsers ?

@JeanChristopheD17042937Pega Browser Extension should not be causing any pages to load differently than they otherwise would. As I understand it, IE compatibility-mode must be enabled for a given page. If you or your IT team have not specifically done so for this content or this page, then it is possible (though I cannot see how) that Pega Browser Extension is the cause. If you can show that Pega Browser Extension is causing this to open differently than it otherwise would, then please open a support request and provide the INC in this post.
To answer your question though, there is no requirement that Pega Robotics requires an XML file to be displayed in IE Compatibility mode.
May I ask why you are opening an XML file in the browser? What is the purpose of doing that? If you need to access data from the file, it would be easier to download it and use the XmlDocument Component to read it rather than to try to do anything with it in your browser window.

@ThomasSasnett XML file must be opened in Edge to retrieve an URL where files are saved Find attached examples of XML display.

@JeanChristopheD17042937I am not seeing your attached example. I believe you can only attach files in replies to the original post.

@JeanChristopheD17042937 I am not understanding what the issue is. Are you saying that when you have the Pega Browser Extension enabled, that the XML file opens directly in IE Compatibility mode and that when you disable the browser extension, that it no longer opens in Compatibility mode?
Are you able to give me more details about what you are trying to accomplish with your automation? Where does the automation start that leads us to this XML file? Once you have the file opened, what do you need to do with it?

Why is IE mode necessary with Pega Robotic Automation for Browsers ?
Is it a wrong configuration for Pega Robotic Automation for Browsers ?
In attachment, you can see both displays.
Is it possible that I have a wrong Pega Extension ?
Where can I find a correct one ?

If Pega Robotic Automation for Browsers is not activated, XML file is displayed correctly without IE mode ind Edge.
***What do you mean by Activated? The extension is either enabled or not (usually by group policy).
If Pega Robotic Automation for Browsers is activated, XML files is displayed correctly in Edge if IE mode is activated.
***What do you mean by Activated? The extension is either enabled or not (usually by group policy).
Why is IE mode necessary with Pega Robotic Automation for Browsers ?
***It is not necessary. There is nothing I am aware of in the Pega Browser Extension (PBE) that activates or otherwise controls Compatibility mode in your browser. These settings are dictated by your browser in my experience.
Is it a wrong configuration for Pega Robotic Automation for Browsers ?
***No, there is not configuration for Pega Browser Extension except for the required group policies to enable the extension in either Edge or Chrome. See the links below for information on PBE.

Where can I find a correct one ?
***I doubt there is an issue with Pega Browser Extension. I suspect there is a misunderstanding and I do not have all the correct information. If you'd prefer, feel free to open a support request and you can meet with a member of support to determine what specifically is going on. If you have not installed PBE and instead are using the legacy extension, then you are certainly using the wrong version. PBE will show up in Add/Remove Programs as a separate installation. If you do not have this and still have an extension in your browser, it is the legacy extension and should be replaced with PBE. PBE will show in your browser as Pega Robotics Automator. I do not recall what the legacy extension will show as.
To get the latest version of Pega Browser Extension, simply download the latest version of Studio or Runtime. You do not need to update your Studio or Runtime version since PBE is a separate product and can be updated independently from Studio and Runtime.

@ThomasSasnettI defined the specific URL to allow extension to read and change all data. That the reason why XML files are not correctly displayed. Browser Extension for PEGA is the problem. If URL is not defined or Extension is disabled, XML are correctly displayed.
