Generating a new language pack for Finnish
Hi,
We are trying to generate the language pack for our implementation application in Finnish.
I followed the wizard and was able to get through the textToTranslate excel.
I have manually added the respective finnish translations to the field values and Go to upload the translations.
But I see that platform says it created a new ruleset to store these values but doesn't do it as in image
On proceeding further where I upload the zip file, and click on next
It says 0 rules imported.
This is confusing me as no stated ruleset has been created newly nor the rules imported. Need help in this regard to unblock us.

@AlekhyaprasannaN I have checked the support ticket which was closed successfully on the 27th June.
The issue was with the file that was edited / imported. When TextToTranslate.xml was edited the format appears to have been incorrectly changed (e.g. if it got saved as xls rather than xml when editing in excel).
We have to edit the file through excel to get the rules generated automatically.
The support team updated the field values and uploaded new file with name "Translation_Finnish_2022-06-08_10-37-391.zip".
You confirmed that the file imported and the rules were getting created fine.
I will close this forum question with this explanation.

Can you confirm that you followed the below steps for the localization wizard ?
The localization wizard is located in Designer Studio >User Interface > Localization Tools > Translate to New Language. You can do a translation for your personal rules from English to other language (eg. Finnish).
Can you confirm that the zip file gets created?
Do you see the generated zip file (Translation_Finnish_2022-05-13_xxxx.zip?) downloaded in 'Downloads' folder? Is there contents?
Do you see errors in the log when you import generated zip file ?
Do you have Framework rulesets included in your steps?
Please clarify the steps eg

5. did you select include Pega translation and export for custom translation?
6. Click on Next and click on Enable records for translation button
7. Wait till zip is downloaded and click on Next.

Can you check the TextToTranslate.xml file from zip downloaded ?
Is the zip folder created ?
8. Configure -> User Interface -> Application readiness -> Localization -> Translation in progress
9. Click on ID and select ruleset and versions and click on Next
10 . Upload the file which was updated as part of Step 7. Wait till upload is completed.
Perhaps with some screenshots of your Application ruleset stack and the log file results during the generation we can help further.

After generating the language packs, I wasn't really sure to import it as it may or may not change the locale. Pls let me know if this helps to guide us further.

@AlekhyaprasannaN I ran this by a UI SME and from looking at your document it all seems in order.
However it would be better if a UI SME could see what was actually uploaded. We;re also not sure what you mean when you state: "But I see that platform says it created a new ruleset to store these values but doesn't do it as in image"
Did you edit the XML inside the zip? We need to be sure that you uploaded the same file that was exported.
From the screenshot it does not show that any translations were skipped so the issue may be with the file that was edited / imported.
For example when we test we see skipped status for any translations we left blank:
Did you edit the TextToTranslate.xml?
We need to ensure that the format is not changed (e.g. if it got saved as xls rather than xml when editing in excel). It should then be re-zipped (unless you edited it in place in the original zip).
If you want to have this looked at in more depth I would suggest that you log a support incident for this.
Please can you provide the INC id here so that we can help you track it?

@MarijeSchillern Thanks for getting back to me. I have logged an incident for the same INC-224810.
We have edited the TextTopTranslate.xml and uploaded the file in the same format by rezipping it in my first attempt. Though we didn't upload the file which had 42000+ entries after following your steps.
I would attach the logs to the thread after processing the steps stated again.
