EAR Support for Pega 8.7

Hi,

Can someone confirm if EAR deployment is still supported by Pega 8.7. When i look at below URL, it clearly states EAR deployment will no longer be supported by Pega 8.7

However, the upgrade guide mentions about installing the prpc_j2ee14_ws.ear which seems to be contradicting with the previous statement.
