Can we deploy frameworks of 8.5.version on Pega Platform 8.6

Currently we have upgraded Pega Platform from 8.5.2 to 8.6.1. Also we have frameworks of version 8.5.2. Do we need to upgrade mandatorily  frameworks  to 8.6.1 or we can continue with existing versions.
