System Limits - Max Flow loop count for Split For Each

As per pega help - Adding iteration to a flow (pega.com) , default limit to loop over for "split for each" is defined in system settings which is 500. I haven't observed any issue with using split for each against a page list size of 5000. is this expected behavior or a bug? why system is not throwing error after entering iteration 501in split for each.  Validated it in 8.5.1 Personal Edition.

Hello, 

No I don't think we had such limit ever. I did loop on many pages way above 5000 pages without any problem and without changing any setting. 

This should be a confusion.
