Summarized report def fetches all the data and not the one displayed in custom Filter dates
We have created a summarized report def having Count and Average functions and custom filter section with default dates. But when the report def is launched it is not using the default date filters from the custom section and is fetching all the records from the associated view.
Any suggestion how to resolve this issue ?

As a work around we have enabled prompt filter with default dates before the initial report def data load. On submit report def would load data based on the default date.

Try removing the custom filter section and using the OOTB filter section temporarily to see if that works as expected. this will tell you if it is the custom filter configuration that is faulty.
There are some nuances to setting up custom filter sections that have to be adhered to in order for them to work properly.

OOTB filter section seems to be working fine but could you please explain what needs to be done for the custom filter to work in this case?
Custom filter has default dates with a range for 7 business days on the report def load and the report data needs to be filtered with this date range before displaying the actual result.

Followed the approach provided in the below link. And the only difference in our approach is that we are defaulting the date filter on the section by not using a data page. We even tried the data page approach but that too does not resolve our issue.
Issue still exist where the custom report filter dates are not applied in the summary report definition and the report is pulling all the data discarding the filter dates.
