Pega LinuxLite Email Listener Configutation
Hi Team,
I am using Pega LinuxLite VM I got from LSA Course 7.3/7.4. I am trying to set up an Email Listener. Could someone provide information to fill in Email Account's Receiver section (Host server address, Host port, email account, password, etc)?
Moreover, are there any document about LinuxLite VM (configuration, installed servers, etc) I can reference to for future work?

Hi All,
After doing some research, IMAP server is not available so I need to install Dovecot IMAP package. Then I use the provided email account "architect" as a listening mailbox.
In the receiver section, I fill User ID as "architect", password is "password", host is "localhost" and port is "143".

Hi,
The platform doesn't provide any mail server capabilities to send/receive emails using Pega. You can try using any of the external providers Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook email address for testing purposes. Respective mail provider(forum) will give you the details about how to connect to their mail server using SMTP, IMAP/POP, hostName & port etc..
The documentation is not available as LinuxLite VM used internally for Pega Academy educational purposes.

Thank you for your response.
The Pega LinuxLite actually provides an email SMTP server. You can launch Thunderbird Mail application. The [email protected] email account has been already set up. I am able to send email from Pega application using that email account. Because sending email out is available, I wonder if the Linux box also have IMAP or POP3 to read incoming emails.
Also, the Pega LinuxLite VM is used not only for Pega Training but also CLSA application build exam. Without the documentation, it will limit the application's design.

Hi Dat,
I didn't explore LSA VM machines and I wasn't aware that an embedded SMTP server is provided with that. To be able to read the mails, you need to actually connect to the mailbox server thru IMAP or POPS, I am not sure if it's allowed.
Probably people who have experience in Pega Academy courses can help.
You can reach out to [email protected] to confirm if there is a documentation available.
