How to get the path of an excel file from the excel application which is launched by the other application.
Hi Team,
I am automating an application. In this application, when a button named "Export Data" is clicked, then an excel file will be opened with data contained in it. I want to get the file path of the opened excel file.
I have set the property HookChildProcesses property to True, so that the excel application can be hooked by the Pega robotics studio when it is launched by other application. I am unable to interrogate anything in this excel application, so that i cannot get the file path.
Is there any possibility of getting the file path, so that we will be processing the excel by using excel connector.

First, you can't interrogate the excel application that's why connectors provided. So, when click export data, is it possible to save to disk. If yes then save the file and use this further using excel connector.

Thanks for the prompt reply. We cannot save the file. it will be directly opened in the excel application. Is there any possibility of getting the file name.

You can get the running process (.exe) file path but not file name.
