Operator password encryption after upgrade

We are upgraded from 6.1 SP2 to 8.1.4. All the operators' old passwords were saved into DB with MD5 algorithm in PRPC 6.1 SP2 But PRPC 8.1.4 version uses BCRYPT algorithm. What happens to the operator passwords after upgrade.

Does pega resaves the passwords for all operator instances with new algorithm while upgrade?
