Do you get any error while upgrading the Summary View to Report definition?

You can do a "Group By" just fine using a Report Definition -- simply add a Summarized column such as COUNT pyID. What you cannot do is source Section to a Summary Report Definition. To have a Section display summarized values you, instead, need to source the Section to a List Data Page that in turn sources the Summary Report Definition.To display a summarized value look at the Clipboard to see how it is defined, e.g., .pySummaryText(1)

1. Group By can be applied in RD by adding aggregate function such as count on one of the column

2. Trend reporting can be achieved by creating function alias.
