Is it possible to use other connection methods than prconfig.xml for PegaRULES & PegaDATA?

Hi,

I have only seen "use configuration in preferences" settings for OOTB data source connection (PegaRULES and PegaDATA) which is equivalent with prconfig.xml. Is it possible to use other methods than this to connect to PegaRULES and PegaDATA?

For external database connection, I know we can use any methods below (prconfig.xml, JDBC Connection Pool, JDBC URL, or others) but I am not sure if this is true for PegaRULES & PegaDATA also. I don't see any options for these during Pega Platform installation. Does that mean it is limited to prconfig.xml?

PegaRULES and PegaDATA databases are default databases which needs to be connected to during server start-up. So, these connection details should be made available for server start-up scripts to use to connect to database. Hence it is made defaults to use "use configuration in preferences" settings for OOTB data source connection for PegaRULES and PegaDATA.
